Hyongdoo Jang is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Curtin University. He completed his MPhil studies in Energy and Resources Engineering at the Chonnam National University in 2011, and earned his Ph.D. in Mining Engineering at the WA School of Mines, Curtin University, Australia. He has been a Member of the International Society of Explosive Engineers (since 2002), a Member of the International Society for Rock Mechanics (since 2009), and a Member of The Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (since 2017). He has broad experience in rock mechanics and geotechnical aspects of rock slope stability, underground space stability and ground support improvement, optimization of surface and underground blasting design, blasting hazard control, dilution control and fragmentation management.
