Citrus harvesting is time-intensive and labor-intensive, relying mainly on manual harvesting. The automatic harvesting of fruit and vegetable crops can not only reduce the physical labor of fruit farmers in the harsh field environment but also greatly improve the harvesting efficiency. Based on the principle of manual citrus picking, an end-effector with three-finger grasping is designed in this study. First, the structure of the end-effector was designed to achieve the function of stable grasping and effective cutting of citrus fruits, and then the working process and key parameters of the end-effector were explained in detail. Finally, a picking test was conducted without considering robot vision. The test results show that the end-effector has a picking success rate of 95.23% for citrus with a diameter of 30–100 mm and an average picking time of 4.65 s for a single fruit. This end-effector can realize the picking function for citrus of different sizes and shapes and has the advantages of high adaptability, stable gripping and no damage to the fruit.

In order to meet the demand of the intelligent and efficient picking of fresh citrus fruit in a natural environment, a flexible and independent picking method of fresh citrus fruit based on picking pattern recognition was proposed. The convolutional attention (CA) mechanism was added in the YOLOv7 network model. This makes the model pay more attention to the citrus fruit region, reduces the interference of some redundant information in the background and feature maps, effectively improves the recognition accuracy of the YOLOv7 network model, and reduces the detection error of the hand region. According to the physical parameters of the citrus fruit and stem, an end-effector suitable for picking citrus fruit was designed, which effectively reduced the damage during the picking of citrus fruit. According to the actual distribution of citrus fruits in the natural environment, a citrus fruit-picking task planning model was established, so that the adaptability of the flexible handle can make up for the inaccuracy of the deep learning method to a certain extent when the end-effector picks fruits independently. Finally, on the basis of integrating the key components of the picking robot, a production test was carried out in a standard citrus orchard. The experimental results show that the success rate of the citrus-picking robot arm is 87.15%, and the success rate of picking in the natural field environment is 82.4%, which is better than the success rate of 80% of the market picking robot. In the picking experiment, the main reason for the unsuccessful positioning of citrus fruits is that the position of citrus fruits is beyond the picking range of the end-effector, and the motion parameters of the robot arm joint will produce errors, affecting the motion accuracy of the robot arm, leading to the failure of picking. This study can provide technical support for the exploration and application of the intelligent fruit-picking mode.

To improve the accuracy and reliability of orchard spraying robots, an integrated navigation system was developed, consisting of a real-time kinematic positioning-Beidou satellite navigation system (RTK-BDS) receiver, an inertial measurement unit (IMU), a navigation controller, and servo motors. Using the loose coupling combination method, an error Kalman filter algorithm based on the measurement of position and heading angle is implemented to correct the error of the inertial measurement unit in real time. Combining the kinematics model and the pure pursuit model of the spraying robot, a path-tracking control algorithm is proposed. Path planning was conducted according to the terrain characteristics of orchards. Field experiments were carried out on a spraying robot to evaluate the proposed auto-navigation system. The results showed that when the spraying robot was static, the positioning performances of BDS alone and that of the BDS/IMU combined system were similar, the positioning error was less than 1.5 cm, and the heading angle errors were within 0.3°; when the spraying robot moving alone to a straight line at the speed of 0.4 m/s, the position error of the navigation system only using BDS was less than 5.29 cm, the heading angle error was within 3°, while the position error of BDS/IMU integrated navigation system was less than 2.49 cm, and the heading angle error was within 2°. The accuracy of BDS/IMU integrated navigation system is significantly improved. When the orchard spraying robot was moving at the speed of 0.4 m/s, the maximum offset error was lower than 10.77 cm, the average offset error was not higher than 3.55 cm, and the root mean square error (RMSE) of the lateral deviation was 1.19 cm. The results showed that the proposed auto-navigation system could make the spraying robot track the pre-set path smoothly and stably.

The increase in precision agriculture has promoted the development of picking robot technology, and the visual recognition system at its core is crucial for improving the level of agricultural automation. This paper reviews the progress of visual recognition technology for picking robots, including image capture technology, target detection algorithms, spatial positioning strategies and scene understanding. This article begins with a description of the basic structure and function of the vision system of the picking robot and emphasizes the importance of achieving high-efficiency and high-accuracy recognition in the natural agricultural environment. Subsequently, various image processing techniques and vision algorithms, including color image analysis, three-dimensional depth perception, and automatic object recognition technology that integrates machine learning and deep learning algorithms, were analysed. At the same time, the paper also highlights the challenges of existing technologies in dynamic lighting, occlusion problems, fruit maturity diversity, and real-time processing capabilities. This paper further discusses multisensor information fusion technology and discusses methods for combining visual recognition with a robot control system to improve the accuracy and working rate of picking. At the same time, this paper also introduces innovative research, such as the application of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for accurate fruit detection and the development of event-based vision systems to improve the response speed of the system. At the end of this paper, the future development of visual recognition technology for picking robots is predicted, and new research trends are proposed, including the refinement of algorithms, hardware innovation, and the adaptability of technology to different agricultural conditions. The purpose of this paper is to provide a comprehensive analysis of visual recognition technology for researchers and practitioners in the field of agricultural robotics, including current achievements, existing challenges and future development prospects.

In this paper, we propose an early warning model of credit risk for cross-border e-commerce. Our proposed model, i.e., KPCA-MPSO-BP, is constructed using kernel principal component analysis (KPCA), improved particle swarm optimization (IPSO), and BP neural network. Initially, we use KPCA to reduce the credit risk index for cross-border e-commerce. Next, the inertia weight and threshold of BP neural network are searched using MPSO. Finally, BP neural network is used for training the data of 13 different enterprises of cross-border e-commerce’s credit risk. To analyze the efficiency of our proposed approach, we use the data of five different enterprises for testing and evaluation. The experimental results show that the mean absolute error (MAE) and root mean square error (RMSE) of our model are the lowest in comparison to the existing models and have much better efficiency.
