Prof. Filippo Lococo is a thoracic surgeon with extensive clinical research experience in the field of lung cancer. He carried out his clinical and surgical care activities initially at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Gemelli Policlinic in Rome (as a resident), and later (as a researcher) at the IRCCS - Reggio Emilia Oncology Center, and now he has returned to the University of Rome as Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery. In his career he has demonstrated his remarkable leadership skills in the field of science; he was appointed to his own Institute as Co-ordinator of three Multidisciplinary Oncological Groups for research in three key sectors of thoracic oncological pathology (Rare Lung Tumors, Neuroendocrine Tumors and Malignant Mesothelioma of the Pleura), reporting remarkable successes (in terms of scientific production) in these areas. He is part of the Scientific Technical Committee of the IRCCS-Reggio Emilia Oncology Center, where the strategies and research lines of the entire Oncology Center are decided. As a P.I. he has planned and subsequently published (in high-level scientific journals for the relevant category) the results of numerous national and international multicenter studies on various topics of clinical interest. He has 303 publications with 2666 citations and a high h-index of 26 (Scopus, 25 October 2023).
