Dr. Francesco Balduzzi is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Florence, Italy. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a thesis on "3D Thermo-Fluid Dynamic Simulation of a 4 Stroke Indirect Injection Diesel Engine" in 2009, and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Reliability Engineering, with a thesis on "Development of a CFD approach for the performance prediction of reciprocating compressors" from the University of Florence in 2013. His research interests mainly encompass internal combustion engines (CFD simulation of the in-cylinder charge motion of 2S and 4S engines), wind (detailed CFD simulations of wind turbine airfoils, and atmospheric boundary layer and non-conventional siting), and machinery (steady and transient CFD simulation of reciprocating compressor, and conjugated heat transfer (CHT) simulations for machines' refrigerating systems).
