Iduna Arduini is an Associate Professor of
Environmental and Applied Plant Sciences at the Department of Agriculture, Food
and Environment of the University of Pisa, Italy. She graduated in Biological
Sciences in 1988 and achieved a PhD in Agricultural Biology in 1994. Her
research activities focus on (i) the effect of heavy metals on plants; (ii)
the natural regeneration of forest ecosystems; (iii) the yield determination of
cereal crops in response to genotype, environmental conditions, and crop
management; (iv) the plant-to-plant interactions of cereals and legumes in sole
crops and intercrops; (v) the sensitivity to waterlogging of legume and cereal
crops; and (vi) buckwheat growth in Mediterranean conditions. Currently, her
research interests are oriented to invasive alien species, with a focus on the
effect of invaders on seed bank ecology.
