Prof. Asimina Kiourti is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University, where she leads the Wearable and Implantable Technologies group. Previously, she served as a Postdoctoral Researcher, and then as a Senior Research Associate at Ohio State’s ElectroScience Laboratory from 2013 to 2016, and as an Assistant Professor from 2016 to 2022. Prior to that, she received her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece (2013) and her M.Sc. degree from University College London, UK (2009). Prof. Kiourti’s research interests include wearable and implantable sensors, antennas and electromagnetics for body-area applications, and flexible textile-based electronics. Her work has been recognized with over 40 scholarly awards, including the 2023 IEEE Lot Shafai Mid-Career Distinguished Achievement Award, the 2022 Ohio State Early Career Distinguished Scholar Award, the 2021 NSF CAREER award, and the 2021 "40 Under 40" recognition by Columbus Business First. Prof. Kiourti is a Senior Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation and Editor of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine “Bioelectromagnetics” column. She also serves in several elected and appointed roles in the IEEE, USNC-URSI, and ACES.
