Biography

Rosana joined NPL in 2018 as Higher Research Scientist. She has a MSc in Biotechnology and a PhD in Biochemistry. Rosana previously worked at Oxford University and Duke University as postdoctoral researcher focusing in understanding the structural basis of activation and signalling of G protein-coupled receptors through a multifunctional approach including cellular signalling, protein biochemistry, receptor pharmacology and structural biology. Rosana now is devoted to addressing the challenges of structural biology of membrane proteins as drug targets and to addressing the bacterial resistance through antimicrobial discovery aiming to improve therapeutic manipulation in human diseases. Current interests: • Metrology and development of novel technologies for biology and medicine • Quantitative structure-activity relationships of membrane proteins and other pharmacological biomolecules • High-resolution and cryo-electron microscopy
