Sonia Calvari is the Director of Research at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Osservatorio Etneo–Sezione di Catania, Piazza Roma 2, 95125, Catania, Italy. She holds a degree (110/110 cum laude) in Geological Sciences from the Università degli Studi della Calabria, Arcavacata di Rende, Cosenza, and a Ph.D. in Volcanic Hazard from Lancaster University, U.K. Presently, she is an Associate Editor of the MDPI international journal “Remote Sensing” and Editor in Chief of the Elsevier international journal "Journal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research". Previously, she was the Leader of the "Centro di Pericolosità Vulcanica" (Volcanic Hazard Centre), INGV—Rome, and Associate Editor of the Springer international journal "Bulletin of Volcanology".
