Dr Akinyemi had his undergraduate training in the Department of Geology, Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University), where he finished with Second Class Upper division; in honours Geology (1995). He underwent his postgraduate degree courses and obtained both M.Sc in Applied Geology(2008) and Ph.D (2011) in a reputable University of the Western Cape, South Africa. His Master of Science (M.Sc) programme was sponsored by German DAAD Postgraduate Scholarship for Sub-Saharan Africa (2005-2007). Dr Akinyemi’s Doctoral studies were sponsored by ESKOM/SASOL, South Africa (2009-2011). He won a German DAAD Postdoctoral Research Fellowship for Sub-Saharan Africa (2015 – 2016) which he undertook at School of Environmental Science in the University of Venda, South Africa. Dr Akinyemi has over 15 years as a professional academic and research scientist with a proven record of accomplishment in leading multidisciplinary research and development. He has published 65 articles in peer reviewed journals, 2 papers in non-reviewed conference proceedings, 3 book chapters, abstracts, technical reports to industries and invited talks. He has also mentored and graduated over 30 Honors and 2 M.Sc candidates.
