Robert Gabriel is a Full Professor and the Head of the Institute of Biology at the University of Pécs. He is interested in light- and electron microscopic enzyme histochemistry and immunocytochemistry, microanatomical organization of the enteric nervous system, invertebrate ganglia and visual system of vertebrates, and anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and biochemistry of the retina. He has an h-Index of 37, and his papers have been cited more than 3500 times (Google Scholar, 13 October 2023).
