Doctor in Mathematics. Full Professor of Statistics and Operational Research at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Spain). He has developed his research in the field of Mathematical Optimization as a basic discipline in modeling and solving planning problems in logistics and industrial engineering. In his more than 20 years of research experience, the following contributions can be highlighted. - Supply chain management and production planning with stochastic optimization models, warehouse management, facility location, efficient energy management in buildings. - BFC: Branch and Fix Coordination: general scheme for solving Stochastic Programming problems. - Air traffic flow management, with the first contributions in the literature that consider the uncertainty on the capacity of airports and air space; detection and resolution of conflicts, with non-linear integer models that for the first time include three types of maneuvers (turn, speed and change of height) efficiently resolved with metaheuristic algorithms. - Risk management, with contributions on the measurement and management of risk in industrial planning problems in multi-stage problems. He has participated in several research projects (IP in 6 granted by the National R&D Program, without interruption since 2004).
