Geologist (Univ. of Granada, Spain, 1988) and PhD in Geology (Univ. Granada, Spain, 1993). From 1998 to present working at the Department of Geology in the Universidad de Chile, achieving the rank of full professor in this university in 2010. My research is focussed on the petrogenesis of arc-related rocks and processes related with heat–fluid–rock interactions. From 2010 to present, I have been the Director of the Andean Geothermal Center of Excellence. My interest areas include petrology, geochemistry, and mineralogy.
