Veronica Lazăr is a Professor in Microbiology and Immunology, Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest, Romania. She is a member of the Biology Professorial Council and a member of the Biology Doctoral Schools Office. She received her B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Bucharest in 1983 and her M.Sc. from the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest, in 1984. In 2000, she earned her PhD with the thesis: Theoretical and practical implications of microbial adherence and aggregation phenomena. She was the former Head of Department of Botany & Microbiology, University of Bucharest, from 2004 to 2021. Dr. Lazăr is a specialist in Medical Microbiology, Microbial Ecology, and Immunology. She has over 450 publications in various peer-reviewed journals worldwide.
