Md Sorwer Alam Parvez is a highly motivated researcher from Bangladesh. He completed his bachelor degree in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. After his graduation, he joined "The Hosen Lab" as a research assistant of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jakir Hosen. During this time, he worked for the therapeutic development of life-threatening human diseases, including infectious diseases. He mainly used computational approaches to facilitate the drug discovery process. Since the emergence of COVID-19, he worked very up front from his country to combat this pandemic. He started digging into the genomics of SARS-CoV-2 to guide the development of effective therapeutics. Some of his research articles on COVID-19 have already been published in peer-reviewed journals. In January 2022, he has enrolled at Kyoto University Graduate School Medicine as Research Student under the supervision of Prof. Gen Ohtsuki. He will continue his higher studies at Kyoto University. His areas of expertise are human diseases, especially infectious diseases, bioinformatics, drug discovery, molecular biology, and machine learning. His aim is to thrive at integrated computational and experimental approaches to tackle the current challenges in the field of drug discovery.
