Dr. Vera Kemp received her Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (Infection and Immunity) from Utrecht University in 2013, after research training at the University Medical Center Utrecht (department of Pathology), and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC, dept of Molecular Cell Biology). She continued working at the LUMC as a PhD student, focusing on improving the use of reovirus in oncolytic virotherapy. After completing her doctoral studies in 2018, she continued as a postdoctoral researcher at Utrecht University (department of Pathobiology), investigating oncolytic virotherapy application in dogs, as well as molecular aspects of viral pathogenesis in animals. In 2020, she returned to the LUMC, working on research projects that center around the determinants of tumor (stroma) responsiveness to oncolytic virotherapy.
