Dr. Lei Ma is an associate professor and a master’s supervisor at the School of Geography and Ocean Science at Nanjing University. He received his BS (2008) and MSc (2011) from Southwest Jiaotong University and his PhD from Nanjing University (2016). From 2019 to 2021, he conducted research as a Humboldt Research Fellow at the Technical University of Munich (Germany). He has won first prize for the Land and Resources Science and Technology Award (2019), the Jack Dangermond Award (2019), special prize for the Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress Award (2021), the National College GIS Newcomer (2022), and first prize for the Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology Award (2022). He was selected as one of the top 2% of scientists in the world by Stanford University. He is mainly engaged in research on remote sensing intelligent interpretation, geographic modeling, health geography, GIS application, etc.
