Tamer's research interests are largely directed toward the utilization of natural or semi-natural polymers in different fields including biomedical, pharmaceutical, and environmental applications. Currently, he is working on the generation of new antimicrobial polymers based on natural sources (i.e., polysaccharides and proteins) via functionalizing them with biocidal groups. In the same direction but with different applications, he is working on protecting the RO membrane from biofouling by immobilizing the surface
