Bin Guo has been a full professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Harbin
Institute of Technology (HIT) since 2001. He is currently the vice present of HIT and the director
of the Key Laboratory of Micro-Systems and Micro-Structured Manufacturing of Ministry of
Education, China. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from HIT in 1983, 1985, and 1991,
respectively. He was a senior visiting scholar at the University of Chiba, Institute of Technology
from 1993 to 1998. His current interests focus on innovative micro/nanomanufacturing processes
and systems, particularly in the areas of deformation-based processes and laser processes.
