Prof. Pengcheng Fu works at the State Key Laboratory of South China Sea Utilization of Hainan University. He previously served as a professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Life Science and Technology, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and as a professor at the University of Hawaii, USA. He has also served as a project review panelist for the US Department of Energy and Agriculture in the field of bioenergy. He received his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (1982) and M.Sc. in Biochemical Plant (1988) from Zhejiang University. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering (1996) from the University of Sydney. He served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Kyushu Institute of Technology (1996–1997) and University of Minnesota (1997–1999). He worked as a Senior Researcher at the American biochemical company DIVERSA CORP from 2001 to 2002.
