Roberto Ambra, a biologist at CREA-AN since 2000, obtained his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University "La Sapienza" of Rome in 1999 for research on the cellular and molecular biology of truffles. In CREA-AN, he has worked on various projects, both as a manager and as collaborator. These projects have involved the genetic and chemical characterization of plant species for human nutrition and the study of some molecules of nutritional interest, both from a strictly analytical point of view, by conventional chemical analyses, and by using molecular analyses on in vitro cellular models, such as the study of the activation of the expression of specific genes involved in the early stages of some human degenerative pathologies.
