Ph.D. in agronomic engineering from the University of Lisbon. Professor at the School of Agriculture, University of Lisbon (ISA), focusing his research and teaching to link agriculture, food security, and nutrition with development outcomes. Currently, he is a member of the Scientific Committee of Doctoral Programmes “Development Studies”, “Sustainability Science,” and “Agricultural Innovation in Tropical Food Chains.” He is also vice dean of the ISA and a member of the Coordination Committee at the ISA’s Research Centre “Linking Landscape, Environment, Agriculture and Food (LEAF).”
