Prof. Dr. Katja Weisel is Deputy Director and Professor of Hematology/Oncology at the Department of Oncology, Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, Section of Pneumonology, University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Hamburg, Germany. Her myeloma research interests focus on treatment optimization for high-risk myeloma, renal-impaired myeloma patients, refractory myeloma patients, and radiographic methods for the disease monitoring of myeloma. Professor Weisel has contributed to more than 100 publications on multiple myeloma treatment and biology. In addition, she is a member of the Advisory Board of the German Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology (DGHO), the American Society for Hematology (ASH), the International Myeloma Working Group (IMWG), the European Myeloma Network (EMN), the steering group of the German-Speaking Myeloma Multicenter Group (GMMG), and the Medical Advisory Board of the Federal Association for Myeloma Patients Myelom Deutschland e.V.
