I am an ecosystem modeler who is interested in understanding terrestrial ecosystem dynamics and their feedback to the climate system across different spatial and temporal scales. My expertise is to use different types (scales) of ecosystem models, such as CoupModel (Zhang et al., 2018, 2019), LPJ-GUESS (Zhang et al., 2013), RCA-GUESS (Zhang et al., 2014, 2018), RCAO-GUESS (Zhang et al., 2020), and EC-Earth (Zhang et al., in preparation) to simulate ecosystem greenhouse gas exchange, active layer dynamics of cold regions, vegetation dynamics, and terrestrial ecosystem feedback to the regional or global climate system.
