The lines of research in which she has worked mainly focus on the study of inflammation control by innate immunity, monocytes/macrophages, in human chronic inflammatory diseases. Her subjects of interest include the role of innate immune system in host-pathogen interactions, mouse animal models, human monocyte and macrophages in vitro assays, the inflammatory and immune related human pathologies such as cirrhosis, cancer and endometriosis, as well as the development of novel therapeutic approaches to treat that type of diseases, testing vegetal bioactive compounds and newly synthesized drugs.
