Xingfei Li was born in Hubei, China. He is currently a professor at the college of Precision Instruments and Opto-electronics Engineering, Tianjin University, Tianjin, China. He received an M.Eng. degree in instrument science and technology from Southeast University and Ph.D. at the college of Precision Instruments and Opto-electronics Engineering from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China in 1994 and 2000. He worked as a researcher at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China from 1996 to 1999 and completed post-doctoral research in mechanical engineering at The University of Michigan, USA from 2003 to 2004. His research interests include inductively coupled power and data transmission, intelligent underwater systems, and manufacture and integration of inertial sensors.
