Hans Dagevos (PhD) is senior scientist at Wageningen Economic Research of Wageningen University and Research in the Netherlands. He approaches and analyzes the world of food from the perspective of the sociology of consumption. This has resulted in numerous (>300) publications, ranging from scholarly papers and research reports, books and book chapters, to book reviews and weblogs that he (co)authored and (co)edited. Hans received his PhD (cum laude) from Utrecht University in 1994, came to WUR in mid-1997, and has occaisionally combined his position of sr. researcher with secondments (Netherlands Nutrition Center, Rathenau Institute, Inholland University of Applied Sciences). He is also regularly invited to be a member of advisory boards concerning food policy, and frequently consulted by journalists on various issues related to a food transition toward sustainable diets and food politics.
