Julie Pasco is Professor of Epidemiology at Deakin University, located at Barwon Health. She is the Director of the Epi-Centre for Healthy Ageing and Theme Leader for Population Health in the Institute for Mental and Physical Health and Clinical Translation (IMPACT). Professor Pasco is an epidemiologist, with a background in biochemistry and physiology. Her population-based research focuses on understanding the progression of chronic metabolic and musculoskeletal disorders and the nexus between physical and mental health. An important component of her research is to facilitate knowledge transfer from research into practice and into the community.
