Professor Liviu Moldovan has an M.Sc. (1984) in engineering, an M.Sc. (2001) in industrial management, and a Ph.D. (1996) in robotics (modeling and control of parallel robots) from the Polytechnic Institute of Cluj–Napoca, Romania. His work experience includes the following: 1986 to 1990, research engineer in industry; 1990 to present, professor in robotics and quality management at George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures. He is the acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.
