Patrick De Boever obtained his degree in bioengineering at Ghent University. He then received his PhD in applied biological sciences at the same university. Patrick De Boever works as a project manager at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research-VITO. Patrick De Boever is responsible for research projects in the field of preventive medicine and medical technologies. He is team leader for MONA, where research is being conducted into the use of eye analyses to detect chronic diseases at an early stage. Patrick De Boever is also appointed as a professor at Hasselt University.
