Jessica Elena Mendieta Wejebe is a researcher and teacher. She completed her doctorate in research in medicine and her master's of science in pharmacology, both programs belonging to the Postgraduate Studies and Research Section of the Higher School of Medicine of the National Polytechnic Institute (Mexico City, Mexico). She obtained her PhD degree in 2008. Her work experience is based in the areas of research and teaching at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. Currently, the line of research of her interest focuses on the in silico design, synthesis, and preclinical evaluation of new chemical entities with antidiabetic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activity in in vitro and in vivo models. Additionally, she has focused on the study of the pharmacokinetics of the most promising compounds. She belongs to the National System of Researchers (Level I) of the National Council of Science and Technology. She has been the recipient of various awards at the institutional and national levels for her research work in the area of health.
