Katia Barbaro, born in Roma, Italy, in 1968, is a biologist with a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology from Sapienza University of Rome. She is currently a director biologist at the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Lazio e della Toscana "M. Aleandri". She is the author of seventeen scientific publications, with an H-index of 9 on Scopus. She has been engaged in scientific research since 1992, and her main research interests are in the fields of stem cell, regenerative medicine, and virology.
