Dr. Rogerio M. Castilho is an associate professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He completed his DDS at the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas and went on to earn a master's and a Ph.D. in oral pathology from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He completed his postdoctoral training in Epithelial and Cancer Biology at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Castilho is funded by the NIH, and his research focuses on epithelial regeneration, cancer biology, and the development and progression of chronic inflammatory diseases, including periodontal disease. Dr. Castilho has published his research in top scientific journals, including Science and Cancer Research. He also contributes to the academic community as an editorial board member for the Journal of Oral Pathology and Medicine and as a reviewer for more than 20 different scientific journals.
