Luís P. Fonseca is an Associate Professor at Department of Bioengineering of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST, University of Lisbon) and PI at the BioEngineering Research Group of Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB) at IST. LPF has a graduation in Chemical Engineering, a M.Sc. in Biochemical Engineering, a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and D.Sc. in Biotechnology. LPF was Post-Doctoral Fellow at School of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Leeds (1998-1999), and Visiting Scholar at Chemical Engineering Department in University of California (2004-2005). Current research focus on development of nano/micro-biocatalysts based on hydrogels containing protein/cell assemblies and encapsulating nano-magnetic particles.
