Biography

Jinghua Sun received his Ph.D. degree in Optical Engineering from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China in 2002. He then joined the Institute of Physics, CAS as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on ultra-high-power ultrashort OPCPA systems. In 2004, he joined the ultrafast optics group at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK as a research associate, starting research on femtosecond optical frequency combs based on OPOs. At the end of 2011, he moved to Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China as a professor of physics, where he focused on precision frequency comb spectroscopy and metrology. Now, he is working at Dongguan University of Technology, Dongguan, China for ultrafast laser systems and optical frequency combs, and their applications in precision metrology, precision spectroscopy and ultrafast light-matter interactions.
