I am a parasitologist focused on the evolution and host-pathogen interactions of helminths. One of my main research subjects is helminths of veterinary importance, especially those affecting canids, their distribution, and phylogenetics. Additionally, I am interested in studying the role of helminth-derived excretion-secretion products and their interactions with their host cells. Since 2021 I am the Associate Editor of the journals Parasites & Vectors, and Current Research in Parasitology and Vector-borne diseases. I believe that the combination of classical parasitology and modern molecular and bioinformatic methods, lead to creative solutions for the needs of this field.
