Huaihe Song obtained his PhD degree in Chemical Processing from the Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, in 1997. After two years of postdoc research at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), he became a professor at the College of Materials Science and Engineering, BUCT, in 2001. His research interests focus on carbon and carbon-based composite materials, including pitch-based carbon materials, carbon nanomaterials, ordered mesoporous carbons, and carbon materials for energy storage, such as in lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and supercapacitors. He has published more than 300 peer-reviewed papers to date.
