Nicolas Inguimbert is a full professor at the Centre for Insular Research and Environmental Observation (CRIOBE). He carried out a joint doctorate between the University of Montpellier, France, and Halle
Wittenberg, Germany, in organic chemistry on a topic dealing with phosphorus ylids, and defended it in 1997. He then carried out a post-doctoral stay at the University of Paris Descartes in the research group of Prof. Roques, where he developed metalloenzyme inhibitors and obtained an assistant professorship in
2000. He then focused his activities on peptide chemistry and the study of protein/protein antagonists with anti-angiogenic properties. After 10 years in the field of medical peptide chemistry, he obtained a full professorship at the University of Perpignan in 2009 and started to study natural marine peptides, with the aim of better understanding their role in chemical interactions and mediations.
