Yong Xiao obtained his Ph.D. in 2014 from the Harbin Institute of Technology; after this, he joined the Wuhan University of Technology, and is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He has extensive experience in the joining and welding of dissimilar materials and has worked for over 10 years in the field. His research interests mainly focus on the low-temperature joining of nonferrous ceramics and some new materials such as graphene film. In 2019, Dr. Xiao received the Sir SY Chung Fellowship from the University of Sheffield to participate in collaborative research about materials joining with Prof. Russell Goodall.
