Daily life in today’s dynamic world requires fast adaptation of people’s behavior to new challenges emerged from environmental, health, urban housing, transportation, etc. problems. A strong and complex tool in changing behaviors, education consumes significant resources and requires time for effective impact. The present study proposes a roadmap, integrating advanced methods for industrial competitive development (QFD) in configuring efficient educational interventions for changing people’s behavior on special thematic areas, such as environment and recycling. A literature review on applicable behavioral theories led to more than 30 behavioral factors (constructs) targetable by education, their specific impact evaluation being the subject of a survey among education professionals. Finally, to reach a mapping of efficient interventions with low costs, high impact and fast results criteria, educational interventions and behavioral factors were correlated by the QFD method on three dimensions addressing: teachers and trainers, contents and tools, respectively the national & institutional level. The current research results are focused particularly on changing recycling behaviors, but the overall concept and methodology can be expanded to incorporate any preoccupation in the areas of environment and health, as long-term drivers of public well-being.

The envelope (façade) of a building is the part that forms the primary barrier to its environment. Most of the new and modern office buildings have a glazed envelope and are usually built-in city centers. The concept of a double-skin façade was born as a consequence of urban noise. The principal noise source in urban areas is traffic noise. Using a double-skin façade can be a solution that ensures good sound insulation for a glazed office building. This study presents experimental results obtained both from measurement campaigns carried out over longer periods of time, in connection with heat transfer in the case of this system, and punctual measurements, over shorter periods of time, for sound insulation and interior comfort parameters, from the experimental chamber adjacent to the system. The results from this study indicate that box double-skin façades can contribute to noise reduction, improve the interior thermal comfort and increase the energetic performance compared to normal single-glass façades, but within certain limits.

In Spain, 90% of companies are small- or medium-sized and are usually located in industrial areas, in warehouses with particular characteristics. This paper presents a methodology for the environmental assessment of this type of construction with water and carbon footprint indicators. A database was developed for the identification of typologies and common construction elements based on a sample of 87 projects in the province of Seville. Based on this, the paper proposes a methodology for comparative analysis that merges the data obtained from the research survey with environmental and economic data. The work proposes a systematic classification of the construction units of industrial buildings in order to improve the sustainability of the decision-making process by introducing environmental information on construction materials and machinery. First, the most impactful elements were identified, and then the technical solutions were adjusted using solutions already in the sample of 87 industrial projects. Reductions of up to 74% in the carbon footprint and 54% of the water footprint were found, as well as 14% reduction in construction costs in the most favorable case.

In an increasingly interconnected and sustainability-driven digital landscape, effective risk management and robust information security practices are essential not only for protecting organizational assets but also for ensuring long-term operational resilience and regulatory compliance, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which aim to grow but have limited resources. This paper presents the development of a practical framework and a supporting application—GestionAVR—for implementing an Information Security Management System (ISMS) that integrates structured risk management processes. The research presents some theoretical insights and practitioners’ input, with a focus on the needs of SMEs. The framework includes a predefined set of categorized risks across four key areas: organizational, personnel, physical, and technological. Designed for usability and adaptability, the GestionAVR application facilitates risk identification, prioritization, monitoring, and continuous improvement. Validated through a case study in the engineering sector, the solution proved to be effective in enhancing decision-making, reducing time spent on planning, and minimizing overlooked vulnerabilities. Future developments include integration of sustainability indicators aligning with recent updates to ISO 27001 standards, AI-based data analysis and automated reporting. This research offers a customizable and cost-effective tool that supports information security and sustainable organizational development.

Nowadays the sustainability is one of the primary concerns worldwide, especially in the construction industry, taking into account that the buildings have a major impact on the overall energy use and greenhouse gases emissions. There are many studies focusing on particular aspects of the topic, but a holistic, interdisciplinary and long-term approach is needed in order to reconcile the competitive objectives. Starting from a literature research, the authors have formulated a decision making algorithm aiming to respond to professionals needs to apply a structured model in their daily activities. In the second part it is presented how this model can be applied, using a practical case-study – a building in the renovation phase, emphasizing how to optimize the project even when dealing with conflicting criteria.
