Prof. Dr. Rosa MNL Pereira holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a Master's degree in Animal Production from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Technical University of Lisbon, a PhD in Veterinary Sciences from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, and a postgraduate degree in Veterinary Sciences from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lisbon. She is currently a researcher at the Biotechnology and Genetic Resources Unit (UISBRG) of the National Institute for Agricultural and Veterinary Research (INIAV). She is responsible for the Animal Reproduction area, the INIAV Embryology Laboratory, and the Embryo Collection and Production Team, licensed by the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the Management Committee of the Portuguese Animal Germplasm Bank and the Board of Directors of the Portuguese Society for Animal Reproduction. Her research areas are the conservation of animal genetic resources, assisted reproduction techniques—namely the production of embryos from different species—cryopreservation of ovarian tissue, gametes, and embryos, and the identification/resolution of factors determining fertility/infertility.
