Stijn Matthys is a full professor of Repair and Strengthening of Structures at the Ghent University Department of Structural Engineering and Building Materials, as well as manager of Ghent University DuraBUILDmaterials, a knowledge and technology transfer centre for the construction industry. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2000 at Ghent University. Stijn Matthys is the author of more than 300 scientific publications. He is a member of international committees associated with his research interests, including chair of the fib (International Federation for Structural Concrete) Task Group on FRP Reinforcement for Concrete. He is a laureate of the Magnel Prize (SECO–2003) and was awarded fib Fellow in 2023.
