Lingen Chen was born in 1964. He received all his degrees (BS, 1983; MS, 1986; PhD, 1998) in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics. He was promoted to full professor in 1996. His work covers topics in finite time thermodynamics, quantum thermodynamics, and constructal theory. He retired from the Chinese Navy after 40 years of service at the end of 2018. Currently, he is the Director of the Institute of Thermal Science and Power Engineering, Wuhan Institute of Technology, China. Professor Chen is the author or co-author of over 1890 articles (over 790 in English journals) and 19 books.
