Andreja Žgajnar Gotvajn received her B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana in 1993 and 1998, respectively. She is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana. Her research interests mainly focus on biodegradation studies with chemicals and wastewaters according to multilevel European protocols; the determination of biodegradation kinetics and evaluation of environmental impact of degradation products; bioremediation studies with pesticides in aquatic compartments; wastewater treatment: biological and advanced oxidation processes; solid waste disposal; toxicity studies in aquatic compartments; and risk assessment and hazard identification of chemicals.
