Franz Bracher is a pharmacist from education and holds a
Chair for Pharmaceutical Chemistry at LMU Munich since 1997. His main research
interests are in the field of natural products chemistry (total syntheses and
elucidation of molecular modes of action) and the chemical synthesis of low-molecular
drug candidates for diverse targets, mainly in the field of inhibitors of enzymes
in sterol biosynthesis, epigenetic targets (kinases, histone deacylases, PARP),
and modulators of cation channels.
