Prof. Dr. Reinhart Speeckaert is a Professor at the Department of Dermatology, Ghent University Hospital, Ghent, Belgium. He studied medicine at Ghent University, where he graduated in 2014. He obtained a doctorate in medical sciences with the thesis 'The influence of the haptoglobin phenotype on the immune response' and a doctorate in biomedical sciences with 'Study of the mechanisms of melanocyte destruction in melanoma, halo nevi, and vitiligo.' Since then, he has been affiliated with the Dermatology Department of Ghent University Hospital. In addition to general dermatology consultations, he can advise on vitiligo, skin problems linked to systemic diseases, alopecia areata, and wound care.
