Orawan Wongmekiat received her PhD in Physiology from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, in 2000 and is now pursuing further research in integrative renal physiology. She worked as a lecturer at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University (1992–2024). She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006. Her research topics mainly include: kidney function in health, aging, and diseases; oxidative stress and mitochondria; herbs and natural products; and food and chemical toxicology.
