Leanne Ackermans works as a PhD candidate at the School of Nutrition and Translational Research in Metabolism (NUTRIM) for the Maastricht University and the Maastricht University Medical Centre. She received her B.Sc. in June 2016 at the Maastricht University and has graduated with an M.Sc. in Medicine at the University of Maastricht in June 2019. After graduation, she worked as a medical resident in the surgery department of the Zuyderland Medical Centre until September 2020. In October 2020, she started as a PhD candidate, and her main research interest in the surgical field is diagnostics for sarcopenia, muscle decline and the validation of the Muscle Analyzer System, a two split-ring resonator (SRR) with a microwave sensor that captures the transmission coefficient.
