Dr. Silvana Grandillo is a Senior Researcher at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources (IBBR), Research Division of Portici. She received her B.S. in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Naples, Portici, Italy, and her Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Biometry at Cornell University, USA, in 1996. She served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Cornell University until 1998. Since then, she has worked as a Researcher of the Italian CNR. Her research focuses on tomato genetics, genomics, sensory and nutritional fruit quality, QTL analysis, development and use of tomato interspecific introgression line populations, genetic engineering and molecular breeding.
