Maja Ročak, PhD, is a professor in the field of social work and social resilience at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven. She is affiliated with the Research Centre for Social Integration at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and the NEIMED socio-economic knowledge institute in Heerlen, the Netherlands. Maja studied social work at Zagreb University. In 2020, she finished her PhD on shrinking cities and social capital at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Maja’s current research program focuses on urban transformations and civic and civil engagement, as well as social resilience, community development, community organizing and structural issues in social work.
