Dr. Zhang received a B.S. degree in marine technology and a Ph.D. in traffic information engineering and control from the Navigation College of Dalian Maritime University (DMU), Dalian, China, in 2010 and 2015, respectively. He joined DMU in 2016 as a lecturer and then took on research work as a postdoctoral fellow at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. He has been an associate professor and doctoral supervisor with DMU since 2018 and 2020, respectively. His current research interests include adaptive control, nonlinear control, and their applications in the intelligent transportation system. Dr. Zhang received an award from the National Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Scholars of China and was also a recipient of the Ocean Engineering Technology Award (Second Class) and the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award in the field of Intelligent Transportation.
